My favourite things


My consistent intentions are simple practices that are not overwhelming changes but build on one another to create habits I have been able to stick to for most of my life. Different things help different people, but the combinations look like some degree. Completely changing your habits at once is daunting. Instead, focus on a few mindful choices to build a foundation and make health inevitable. What are some of the simplest yet impactful ways to strive to become healthier but not completely overwhelm yourself? Focus on your mental and emotional health in addition to your physical health. Proper rest is just as important as exercise. All aspects completely complement each other and further implement a strong foundation. My favourite tips are the following: Cook at home: the most impactful thing you can do for you and your family. Whether your household is made up of 1 person or 10, making fresh, seasonal meals at home is the best source of preventative medicine and complete nourishment. It is also setting the intention of taking good care of yourself. Cooking is extremely therapeutic especially when food is made with lots of love.

Self-awareness: through meditation, Yoga, sunshine, Qigong, Salaah, journaling, long walks, therapy etc. There are so many ways to naturally relieve stress and build up your emotional and mental health and intelligence. Emotions are a large focus in Chinese medicine, as they are directly in sync with physical symptoms.

Support your body: acupuncture, exercise, herbal tinctures, acupressure, and infrared saunas not only release stress but strengthen your Blood, Qi (vital life force), and immunity. The more balanced your Yin-Yang are, the healthier you are.

CommUNITY: having people who are supportive, encouraging, and positive in your life is integral to your growth. Be around those who inspire you. When you leave a social situation, ask yourself, do I feel good after hanging out with that person?

Purpose: having a reason to get up in the morning is so important to me, and it keeps me mentally and physically youthful. I make sure I get to exercise all my different interests on a regular basis.
