Moxibustion

Moxibustion (moxa) treatment alone is something patients have been enjoying in particular the fire dragon technique. Moxa alone is enough to solve many sicknesses and has been used for thousands of years to prevent diseases and maintain health. It is a specific method of heating specific acupuncture points on the body by burning an herb close to the skin. This technique can be used alone or in combination with acupuncture to restore Jing (essence) and Qi (energy). This therapy is so valued that it is said when all else fails to heal, you can rely on moxibustion. Ancient textbooks say it is the best way to extend a person's life and can also cleanse the Kidneys which adds vital life force back into an ill individual. I actually have begun using heat to eliminate heat from patient’s body if I feel that is what they need.

Moxa in Chinese means restoring something to its natural condition. As the moxa burns, it produces a special type of shortened “infrared radiation” which penetrates about 4 times deeper than regular “infrared”. This means it can promote cell growth, healthy meridian flow and a strong immune system. The fire that this creates is pure Yang (warm) which is the fundamental of life, called the sun of the earth. This treatment is also wonderful because it has no side effects. Summer is the best time to do moxa although it is great at any time.

This treatment tonifies and strengthens the organs and immune system. It warms the meridians and expels cold. Over areas of chronic pain and muscle tension, it promotes circulation and healing by flooding the meridians with Qi (energy). It is especially used for pain that is worse with exposure to cold or damp weather, as with some types of arthritis pain due to its Yang (warm) essence. When applied to acupuncture points that strengthen and lift the Qi (energy), moxibustion can help with fatigue, digestive issues, breech babies and much more.

Please note I used the words infrared radiation in brackets as that is the closest meaning I could find in English.
