If you are feeling hot due to menopause or you are coming up to your period (your body should be heating up as you are coming up to your periods, and once it starts you should cool down again), use KID6 called Shining Sea in English. This point is to help relieve this uncomfortable symptom.
Use KID6 point for menopause, especially to clear heat and sweat without exhaustion. The best herbal formula is Liu Wei Di Huang Wan.
KID6 is one of the acupuncture points that helps open the REN channel. The Ren Channel, which runs in line with the umbilical, helps to circulate energy through the middle section of the body, especially to the reproductive organs. KID6 is well known for treating menopausal conditions such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, and vaginal dryness, along with menstrual disorders. KID6 also has a strong connection to the heart and throat, which makes it great for heart palpitations, anxiety, difficulty breathing, sore throat, and thyroid conditions.
REN4, 6, 12, 17 are my 3 favourite points and if I do acupuncture on a patients front, I am always sure to do these.
