Heart and Uterus connection

For those of you who have not worked this out, take a look at the shape of the Uterus. It is the shape of a heart.

In TICM, it is the Heart that determines behaviour, not the brain. This is further determined due to the proven connection between emotional states and hormonal balance. Let us take a closer look at how the Heart and Uterus are connected.

There is a channel in the body called Uterus vessel which crosses the Stomach that connects the Heart and Uterus enabling them to communicate with one another. Every month the blood comes down from the Heart through this vessel and settles into the Uterus. This allows the Uterus to nourish an embryo. From there, the Uterus channel connects the Uterus to the Kidneys. This special connection is the relationship for birth, hormones, emotional balance, pelvic health and menstruation, this is why TICM puts such an emphasis on the Heart, Uterus and Kidney's relationship for women.

Ideally the Uterus vessel must be unblocked and free flowing for period and pregnancy to occur. If this vessel is blocked, painful periods, PMS and infertility will occur.

Similar to the cause of stagnation, stress, over exertion, a diet heavy in cold food and drinks can create blockages that lead to irregular periods, PMS and so on.

Liver herbs are recommended to improve related symptoms such as acne, PMS, hormonal imbalance, frequent stress, depression, anxiety, irritability, body aches, Stomach discomfort, bloated stomach, digestive issue, IBS, irregular menstruation, infertility and other symptoms of Liver stagnation.

Acupuncture is a great reliever of stagnation and acts as an energy gate opener for menstruation issues. So check out your TICM doctor as they can help to place your body in balance once again.
