Adaptogen for eyes

Goji berries are a superfood worth consuming daily for the unparalleled nourishment they provide to our bodies. Goji berries stabilise Blood sugar, promote healthy skin, prevent Liver damage, nourish Liver function, are anti-cancer, provide immune system support, improve depression, anxiety, and even our sleep. They also help normalise the body's reaction after eating foods high in preservatives or MSG. Another support goji berries excel at providing is eye support, especially ones because of diabetes complications, muscular degeneration, floaters, poor eyesight, cataracts, blurred vision, eye twitching, red eyes, and glaucoma. This is due to their containing taurine. Taurine is an amino acid, which is a building block of human proteins found in the brain, spinal cord, heart and muscle cells, skeletal muscle tissue, and retinas. Taurine is also present in leukocytes or white blood cells that reside in the immune system and play an essential role in protecting cells from damage. Taurine has anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and immuno-modulating properties which can protect the retina. Taurine is found naturally in meat, fish, dairy products, and human milk. It is added to energy drinks due to its hypothesised effect on mental and athletic performance. In the 1970s, experiments on animals deprived of taurine found they did not develop proper vision. Since then, significant research has been conducted into taurine’s role in the development and maintenance of vision. Retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration is a common reason for vision loss from diseases such as glaucoma. A study in 2012 found that taurine protected against the death of retinal nerve ganglion cells, both in the laboratory and in animals. Taurine was found to support the following specific eye issues: diabetic retinopathy; glaucoma; retinal degeneration; retinal ganglion cells; retinitis pigmentosa.
